Faith in College: The Lockbox

I just finished reading a pretty fascinating article by Meredith Miller about what happens to Christian students when they enter college. Anecdotal stories abound of students “losing their faith” when they enter secular or even faith based universities. Miller’s research, however, seems to indicate that students losing their faith is less of a danger than locking up their faith and failing to engage with the world.

It’s a very important read for all who minister with children, students, youth. You’ll also find it helpful if you are intentionally raising a child to be a follower of Jesus.

Link to the article is HERE.

As an aside, the Fuller Youth Institute is kicking some serious butt these days.

Very interesting article!! I do think that the church needs to find a way to empower youth to engage the culture without them losing their own identity in Christ. How does salt make food savory without coming in contact with it? The church has seemed to either teach separatism or inclusivity to the extremes. God is looking for holiness, balanced with love, in order to draw “all” men unto himself!
